Costa De La Luz Golf Holidays

Despite being in Spain, this destination is best served by Faro Airport in Portugal which is approximately 1 hour away by car / transfer. Access over the border is seamless.

High season is considered to be between April to May and September to October.

Known as the ‘Coast of Light’ this region enjoys the highest number of hours of sunshine per year and incorporates the provinces of Huelva and Cadiz. It has some of the best “undiscovered” beaches in Spain, so sunbathing is definitely one of the main attractions of the region. There are several typical Andalucian white villages that are worth a visit. It’s fascinating to wander through the very narrow streets between the whitewashed houses.

The area was the starting point for Christopher Columbus on his voyage of discovery to America and there are several places of interest relating to the voyage. There are several natural parks to visit filled with the local wildlife and vegetation the biggest being the Donana Park. The area is renowned as one of the best places for both wind and kite surfers and it’s a starting point to go whale watching.

It would be wrong to visit the Costa de la Luz and not spend at least some time exploring the many Bodegas that are in the area. The Gonzalez Byass and the Osborne Bodega are two of the most popular.

Whilst there are many restaurants and bars in all the towns its not an area that has the night life that other areas such as the Costa del Sol have. However, if you like good food especially seafood then there are many places to choose from that will provide an enjoyable experience. Jerez is a historic town that becomes very lively on a weekend or when one of the local Fiestas takes place. The seaside Resorts such as Cadiz have more places to visit then most.
