The five-star Hotel Riu Palace Oasis Maspalomas is situated close to the beach in Maspalomas and was fully refurbished in 2018. This included the establishment of three new swimming pools a new restaurant and a first-class spa. Its situated about 30 minutes from the airport with the Resort of Playa del Ingles only two kilometres away.
There are 415 rooms with a balcony or terrace, free WiFi, air conditioning, flat screen TV, fully fitted bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities. Some of them overlook the landscaped gardens or have Ocean views.
There are three restaurants and as befitting a five-star Hotel the food on offer is of excellent quality. There is buffet service in the main restaurant the Promenade and the Krystal fusion restaurant offers an a la carte menu where you can find some exciting dishes created using the finest local ingredients. There is a third option the Botanico restaurant which offers Spanish cuisine. There are also three bars to relax and enjoy the fine range of wines and spirits on offer.
As well as the new pool area there are extensive landscape gardens to enjoy and a spa and wellness centre that has an extensive range of treatments and massages to help you either relax from that days golf or to help you prepare for the next days round. There is also a well-equipped gym to tone the body.
There are several golf courses on the Island that are close enough to the Hotel and the following would be worth visiting. The Anfi Tauro golf course opened in 2007 as an 18-hole course and also there is a nine-hole par 3 course. The course can be described as an Arizona style course located among canyons with scenic views that you won’t forget. The Meloneras Golf course has nine holes that offer ocean views and the other 9 are overlooked by the mountain range. There are two eighteen-hole courses at the Salobre Golf Resort the New and the Old Course and both offer a challenging and rewarding days golfing. The Maspalomas Golf course has hosted several tournaments and is situated next to the dunes. The fairways are wide and the real challenge there is how good are your approach shots. If you are looking for a challenging golf course with excellent practice facilities, then the Maspalomas Club is the place to go. The Mackenzie Ross designed course opened in 1968 and is flat with reasonably wide fairways but be ware if the wind gets stronger then it’s a real test.
